Sing With Shanglun Wu Choral Workshop

Taiwanese choral conductor Shanglun Wu has long been renowned for his profound knowledge and expertise. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to sing alongside members of the CU Chorus under his direction. Two works by Palestrina will be rehearsed, participants can get first-hand experience of Mr Wu's insights of the pieces and how they are rehearsed. It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity to have a glimpse of his craftsmanship.

Renowned Taiwanese Choral Conductor Shanglun Wu is invited to serve as the resident artist of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus (CU Chorus) 2019-20. Mr Wu will host his choral conducting masterclass in Hong Kong this November. Shanglun Wu is reputable in the Taiwanese music field for his profound understanding and thorough analysis in music. His rehearsal is well-known for its efficiency and great discipline. In this masterclass, Mr Wu shall study six choral pieces intensely with six conducting students, and guide them in conducting rehearsals with CU Chorus. This masterclass shall definitely benefit students greatly in terms of music preparation, rehearsal skills and conducting techniques. The Masteclass is co-presented with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, with the lesson sessions and closing concert to be held at its well-equipped recital hall in West Kowloon.
